Thanks for being here, I’m so happy you found me. I am a mom of a 6 year old boy that was diagnosed with ASD for those of you who don’t know what means it is Autism Spectrum disorder.
Don’t let the words scare you is my first bit of advice.
Learn to breathe every time you get news.
I learned the important of continuing to have a life of my own that is not related to my son and his diagnosis.
Making sure you are ok is essential for your wellbeing and that of your child.
I run two business, I am happily engaged to be married to a wonderful man who love me and my child. It is so important to not forget yourself. I’m here to help you and your family by making this process real, doable and yes I inject humor everything I do because I understand the important of enjoying laugh.
I combine my years of experience working with doctors, coaches, therapists and the lovely public system. Through my personal experience of raising a child who was diagnosed on the spectrum I created The Olive Branch to help parents like you become confident in raising your amazing child. My mission is to bring a dose of reality, humor and love into creating a life that is sustainable for you and your child now.
When I first learned my child was diagnosed with autism I was overwhelmed, confused and frustrated. I was given a lot of information on what was wrong with my child and what to expect. Everything seemed so concrete and final. No one told me where to go for help. I felt lost and certainly not normal.
I was full of guilt and sadness that I had done something to my child. There is so much information out there that I have personally learned that simply is not true. Here are just a few myths I busted.
